The Central Coast History Foundation has been established as a non-profit entity to launch this inaugural publishing project. This framework will provide the structure for similar efforts on Central Coast innovators in the future. With the organization in place, ensuing projects will be facilitated by reduced start-up costs, a directory of area resources, production guidelines and established distribution networks.

The Foundation’s management and advisory boards will serve two-year terms, and will solicit and review proposals for ensuing projects and applicants for future board membership. As an educational corporation, the Foundation can accept tax-deductible donations and ensure continuing sources of funding for works of local interest. The Foundation board members are Ken Glick, JG King, Brian Lawler, Mike McCarthy and Tom Spalding.

The Foundation's inagural title, "The Achievers" will be officially launched  November 14, 2004 from 11am to 2pm at McCarthy Wholesale,11 Higuera St., San Luis Obispo, CA. Editor Tod Rafferty and designer Brian Lawler will sign copies of the first edition of the book.
